2019 has begun in earnest. I had the pleasure to be supportive of the Daily Outsider as the new year began. I decided today to be a bit different as I decided to share some fabulous tweets from having been witness to history today with these three great Americans who I had the honor to send out a Hooah to them:

5 eyes. 5 arms. 4 legs. All American.

What also blew me away was this as Congressman Omar took her oath of office — and it is a testament to America that an 1837 Regulation prohibiting headscarves was changed because she wears a hijab — This is as Congresswoman Rashida Taib took her oath of office on Thomas Jefferson’s Quran and noted on her Twitter page this simple yet profound powerful statement: “….This really happened. I am U.S. Congresswoman. Not bad for a girl from southwest Detroit who didn’t speak English, daughter of Palestinian immigrants.,,,: Wow!!!!

Congresswoman Omar & Family

The Folks at the Hummingbird paid homage to Congresswoman Omar:

Young @IlhanMN fled war & conflict in Somalia and grew up in a refugee camp in Kenya. Ilhan’s family immigrated to the US with nothing.

Today, she is sworn in to the House as the first Somali American Congresswoman in US history!

Being witness to yesterday sent chills through my spine as I was so proud of our Country. It is such that gives me hope as I salute all who took on the mantle to serve. But, There are profound challenges before us though with a looming recession, a lingering government shutdown and profound challenges beyond the shores of our land — but yesterday was a day of celebration. One indication of the troubles is what Apple has had to deal with — a loss of 450 Billion in market value. More on that soon here and throughout the Daily Outsider Properties…
